| Notable achievements: |
Before joining Savage & Savage, Lauren was a criminal defense attorney in New Orleans, Louisiana. She served as an Assistant Public Defender for the Jefferson Parish Indigent Defense Board for two years. From 2002-2005, she was also an associate attorney at Laurie White & Associates, an all-female criminal defense firm. Following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, she relocated to Charleston.
Lauren is certified in Admiralty and Maritime Law by Tulane Law School. While at Tulane Law, Lauren served as a senior managing editor for the Tulane Journal of Law and Sexuality, a publication dedicated to exploring the current climate of legal rights of women and homosexuals. In 2005, Lauren graduated from the National Institute for Trial Advocacy's (NITA) Gulf Coast Regional Trial Skills Program and was the recipient of the NITA In-House Scholarship.

In addition to practicing in South Carolina, Lauren is admitted to practice in all Louisiana courts, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana and the United States Court of Appeal for the Fifth Circuit. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the South Carolina Bar Association, the Charleston County Bar Association, and the Louisiana State Bar Association. She is also a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, as well as the South Carolina Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
